Stafford Join Global Forestry Coalition
Stafford Capital Partners is delighted to announce today that it has joined the International Sustainable Forestry Coalition (ISFC), a new body that will work across the timberland sector to promote the environmental and other benefits of a robust global forestry industry.
Commenting on the decision, Stafford CEO Angus Whiteley said that the forestry industry deserved a strong unified voice, to champion best practice and showcase the undeniable benefits that sustainably managed planted forests provides societies.
"We have been investing successfully in the timberland for well over 20 years. We believe the forestry industry's best days are ahead of it, as institutional investors and societies seek to urgently decarbonise economies."
"My hope for the ISFC is that it grows to become a real global advocate for the industry, helping to attract greater investment, take pressure off natural forests and delivering outcomes for climate, communities and nature."
Stafford Capital Partners is one of the world’s largest forestry managers, with 600,000 hectares under management across 120 assets on four continents.
The Stafford engagement with the ISFC will be led by Marta Jankovic, the firm's Head of Sustainability.
”Stafford has a proud and growing track record in responsible investing. We look forward to working with others in the industry to advance global understanding of the highly significant role forestry can play in the race to net zero and advancing a circular bio-economy," Ms Jankovic said.
